WASHINGTON (AP) - NASA on Thursday awarded a $16 million
contract to industrial gas supplier Air Products and Chemicals
Inc., to install a plant to produce liquid nitrogen for the
National Transonic Facility, a cryogenic wind tunnel located at the
agency's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va.
The Allentown, Pa.-based company will provide a project capable
of annually delivering 50,000 tons of liquid nitrogen. Contract
services for the two-year pact include all materials, labor,
engineering services, inspection, testing, documentation and
training.
Shares of Air Products and Chemicals fell $2.39, or about 3.6
percent, to close at $64.88 on the New York Stock Exchange.
